The movie will finally premiere in theatres on Friday December 15th, but Mark Ellis and Perri Nemiroff were lucky enough to attend the Saturday event.

Yesterday at Comic Con Experience 2017 in Sao Paulo, Brazil, Warner Bros. revealed its upcoming slate of movies from DC Films. While there were questions about Warner Bros and DC after a number of shake ups happened after the disappointing returns on Justice League, it appears DC is moving full steam ahead. According to a report from Variety, Warner Bros. is planning to shake things up and will be restructuring its DC films operation following the box office disappointment of Justice League. Jon Berg will exit his current job running the comic book’s film production division, with a search now underway for his replacement. Geoff Johns is expected to continue serving as DC Entertainment’s chief creative officer.

This past week, Deadline revealed that Quentin Tarantino and JJ Abrams are developing a new Star Trek movie based in part on an idea from Tarantino himself. Now Deadline again is reporting that Tarantino met for hours in a writers room with Mark L. Smith, Lindsey Beer, and Drew Pearce and its Smith, writer of The Revenant, who has emerged as the front-runner to take on scripting duties.

After a number of trailer teases and a behind the scenes video, the first trailer for Jurassic World Fallen Kingdom has finally landed online. EW recently revealed that the plot revolves around Chris Pratt and Bryce Dallas Howard returning to the remains of Jurassic World in an effort to save the dinosaurs from a second extinction after a volcanic eruption threatens the island.

Variety is reporting that break out star from Borg/McEnroe, Sverrir Gudnason, has landed the role of Mikael Blomquist in The Girl in the Spider’s Web, Sony’s sequel to The Girl With the Dragon Tattoo. The part was originally played by Daniel Craig. Gudnason joins Claire Foy as Lisbeth Salander, in the movie set to be helmed by Don’t Breathe’s Fede Alvarez.

Variety is reporting that Logan director James Mangold has settled on his next project: an adaptation of Jeffrey Toobin’s best-selling novel American Heiress; with Elle Fanning is in talks to play Patty Hearst. The book to movie adaptation will tell the story of Hearst’s kidnapping by the Symbionese Liberation Army where she later re-emerged as a member of the left-wing terrorist group.

Focus Features has released the new trailer for 7 Days in Entebbe, starring Daniel Brühl and Rosamund Pike. The movie is based on the true story of four hijackers in 1976 who took over a plane flying from Tel Aviv to Paris, and forced it to land in Entebbe, Uganda.

Two months after women began to come forward accusing men in power of sexual harassment and assault, Time Magazine named these women “The Silence Breakers” and awarded them Person of the Year. The list came down to seven finalists for the prestigious award, including Colin Kaepernick, Robert Mueller, Donald Trump and finally, a woman that changed the landscape of female driven superheroes: director Patty Jenkins.

In a report from Deadline, it looks as though Disney has made Rob Marshall their top choice to direct The Little Mermaid, the live action adaptation of the animated musical that will have new songs by Hamilton‘s Lin-Manuel Miranda and Alan Menken. The outlet states that they have heard Marshall has been offered the movie, and is now reading the Jane Goldman script; taking until after the holidays to decide.

THR reports that Ryan Reynolds has signed on to star in in Legendary’s live-action Pokemon movie Detective Pikachu. Goosebumps director Rob Letterman is directing the project, which is due to start shooting mid-January in London. Pikachu is a species of Pokemon, whereas Detective Pikachu is a character from the Pikachu set; and known as a self-styled investigator good at finding things. Reynolds will play the role of Detective Pikachu, which is said to be motion-capture in nature.

While at Comic Con Experience in Brazil, Collider’s own Steve Weintraub stumbled upon the Sony booth and found, somewhat hidden, a new banner for Venom revealing what could appear to be the film’s logo and tagline: We Are Venom.

Amazon Studios has released a new trailer for the critically acclaimed thriller You Were Never Really Here. Written and directed by We Need to Talk About Kevin filmmaker Lynne Ramsay, the film stars Joaquin Phoenix as a traumatized veteran who tracks down missing girls for a living.

As previously reported, the assets for which 21st Century Fox are looking to sell off include the film studio properties like X-Men, Deadpool and Fantastic Four, along with their tv properties and non-broadcast TV parts including FX and National Geographic – reportedly worth $60 billion dollars.

Just as news broke that Fox had halted production on the Queen biopic Bohemian Rhapsody, THR is now reporting that director Bryan Singer has been fired from the production. The trade details a long list of reasons that include clashes between him and his Freddie Mercury actor Rami Malek, absences from the set that would force cinematographer Thomas Newton Sigel to step in and direct; and actor Tom Hollander, who plays Queen manager Jim Beach, is said to have briefly quit the film because of the director’s behavior, but was persuaded to return.

With Star Wars The Last Jedi ready to debut in theatres next Friday, director Rian Johnson is now making the press rounds on the promotional tour. Not surprising, The Last Jedi talk soon turned to his new trilogy of films separate from the Saga, which is said to be a whole new story with characters we’ve yet to meet. Collider’s own Steve Weintraub spoke to Johnson about the new trilogy and asked if he’d like to direct all three movies.

Speaking at the recent Heroes & Villains convention in San Jose, CA - Shazam himself, Zachary Levi, talked a bit about the upcoming adaptation, revealing that he thinks the movie could surprise audiences in the same way Marvel’s Guardians of the Galaxy did.
